Jammu, Dec 15: Private sector will soon establish industrial training institutions in Jammu and Kashmir to provide skill training to youth.

In this regards, Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Asgar Hassan Samoon, Tuesday chaired a meeting to discuss modalities for the establishment of private ITIs in the UT, according to an official statement.

Various issues were discussed in the meeting related to the functioning and establishment of new private ITIs as per guidelines and norms of Directorate General of Training (DGT) and National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Director, Skill Development, Sajad Hussain Ganai, informed the meeting about the rules and norms for establishment of new ITIs besides apprising about the admission process in government as well as private institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.

He informed that about 12000 students took admission in different trades in government ITIs of entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Samoon said that all the Industrial Training Institutes have set up their own workshops to train the student for generating their livelihood.

Samoon asked the concerned officers to take all necessary steps for timely completion of the process for the establishment of new private ITIs so that maximum students of the UT could be benefited.
